Split Singles Club Releases Are Underway!

Milk! Records and Bedroom Suck Records joined forces last year with the simple aim of bringing together and documenting the community of musicians & creativity that surrounds them every day. They founded Split Singles Club, a vinyl subscription service that delivers six double-sided 7” singles to your door – with one side curated by each label. As well as featuring artists from each label’s family of artists,Split Singles Club also aimed to shine a light on some newer, upcoming bands from Australia's thriving underground.

Milk! and Bedroom Suck have passed the torch on to fellow Melbourne-based labels and friends Poison City Records and Our Golden Friend to curate Split Singles Club Series Two. And in what will come as no surprise, they have selected an exceptional list of artists. The 2018 edition of Split Singles Clubfeatures previously unreleased songs from Poison City artists Mere Women, Harmony, Bench Pressand MOD CON, Our Golden Friend artists RVG and 808s & Greatest Hits, plus tracks from bands that they love – Stella Donnelly, Moody Beaches, Elizabeth (Totally Mild), Michael Beach, Way Dynamicand Bitch Diesel. Each artist features once across the six 7” singles, delivered to your door over the course of three months.

Poison City is an independent record label and skateboard / record store based in Fitzroy. Founded in 2003 by Andy Hayden, Poison City is the label behind bands like Camp Cope, Cable Ties, MOD CON, Clowns, Horror My Friend, Harmony, Batpiss and more, as well as the annual Weekender Fest that takes place across multiple venues in Melbourne each September.

Our Golden Friend is an independent record label and management collective currently based in Thornbury. Founded in 2015 by Lorrae McKenna – who signed acts including Methyl Ethel, Courtney Barnett and Gabriella Cohen during her tenure at Remote Control – Our Golden Friend boasts exciting rosters including RVG and Moonlover on their label, and Jade Imagine, Totally Mild and Jess Ribeirofor management.

Series One of Split Singles Club featured tracks by Milk! co-founder Courtney Barnett and label-matesJade Imagine and Hachiku, Bedroom Suck artists Blank Realm and Dag, plus tracks from bands they love – LA Mood, Primo!, Cable Ties and more.
