ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH FOXYGEN PLUS SXSW PERFORMANCE
Cohen has announced she will play her first full North American tour alongside Foxygen as well as showcase at South By Southwest in March. She will then head to Europe to play The Great Escape, London Calling Festival, Vida Festival and End of the Road Festival.
The announcement comes off the back of news that Cohen has signed to Brooklyn based label Captured Tracks, sealing a worldwide deal excluding Australia and New Zealand, where she will remain on Dot Dash / Remote Control Records. Gabriella released her debut album, Full Closure And No Details, in the Spring of 2016 and Captured Tracks will be reissuing the LP on March 3, 2017 for the rest of the world.
Cohen is currently working on her second album, having stolen away to a farmhouse in Seymour, Victoria, surrounding herself with natural wonder and homemade granola. Gabriella will soon embark on an international adventure which will take her first to the US and then to Europe, as she determinedly chases perfect weather and perfect vibes.

Milk! Records and Bedroom Suck have just announced their limited run of Split 7" singles: the two labels have teamed up to put out a limited run of singles that will house a favourite band from each roster, and OGF's own Jade Imagine is first up!
From Bedroom Suck/Milk:
Split Singles Club is a limited-edition collection of 7-inch vinyl, each pairing a track from one of Milk!’s favourite Australian artists on one side, with one of Bedroom Suck’s on the other. The idea – spearheaded by Bedroom Suck director Joe Alexander and Milk! co-founder Jen Cloher – was born out of the close familial dynamic each label has with their artists and their local communities. “We wanted to develop a project that encapsulated this family idea and also extended a hand to others,” Joe says. A significant motivating factor in the project, Jen adds, is highlighting the uniquely generous spirit of Melbourne’s music scene, one that’s earning a growing awareness around the world: "I think Split Singles Club is a great reflection of how uncompetitive and collaborative we are in this town.”
LABEL TO REISSUE DEBUT ALBUM FULL CLOSURE AND NO DETAILS ON FRIDAY 3RD MARCH 2017
ALSO PLAYING SXSW AND VIDA FESTIVAL (SPAIN)
Gabriella Cohen is excited to announce that she has signed to Brooklyn based label Captured Tracks for a worldwide deal excluding Australia and New Zealand where she will remain on Dot Dash / Remote Control Records. The Australia-based Cohen released her debut album, Full Closure And No Details, in the Spring of 2016 and the label will be reissuing the LP on March 3, 2017.
Full Closure And No Details drew the attention of Rookie Magazine who calls Cohen a "modern psychedelic prophet who layers drawling vocals, heartache, and healing over a background of Velvet Underground-esque guitar distortion." Elle Magazine placed the album's single 'Sever the Walls' in their 'top tracks of October' list and Brooklyn Vegan said Full Closure And No Details is "an LP full of warm, smokey guitar pop." Most recently Gabriella was included in an NPR piece on the music scene in Melbourne which you can read here.
Cohen is scheduled to play this year's SXSW - show details forthcoming - and is currently working on the follow up to Full Closure And No Details inside a farmhouse in Seymour (regional Victoria). When Gabriella leaves the shores of Australia to head to the USA in March she will embark on a worldwide tour which will see her play VIda Festival (Spain) as well more tour and festival dates to be announced soon.
Today Cohen is also happy to share the video for the album track "Downtown" which you can watch here:

Melbourne's Jess Ribeiro is excited to announce that she will be bringing her solo songs to living rooms and backyards across Australia. Presented by the much-loved Parlour Gigs, Jess is available to book to play an intimate solo set for you and yours, private and invite-only, from February 2-26, in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Jess Ribeiro’s songs are cinematic in scope: it’s music that travels, across deserts like a Western, through city streets like Film Noir. Narrative and poetic, Ribeiro’s lyrics are rhythmic and evocative, conjuring images that are dimly-lit, but nonetheless electric. Rendered in the stunning intimacy of a living-room or backyard show, these songs will feel all the more immediate and affecting.
Jess’s debut album Kill It Yourself (August 2015, Barely Dressed/Remote Control) was produced by Mick Harvey, a founding member of The Birthday Party and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, whose production for PJ Harvey drew Ribeiro’s attention and admiration.
Preparing to record the follow up to Kill It Yourself, Jess will be playing new songs from her upcoming album, alongside favourites from previous releases. These intimate will be the final opportunity to see Jess play in Australia before she disappears overseas to record.

Our favourite beautiful babe from the hills POPPONGENE is excited to share the news that she'll be holding fort upstairs at The Gasometer Hotel in Melbourne for a residency in the month of January 2017. Every Wednesday in January, POPPONGENE will bring her brand of devotional dream-pop to The Gaso Upstairs. The solo project of artist and musician Sophie Treloar (also of Melbourne outfit Sunbeam Sound Machine) POPPONGENE’s music is laconic and hypnotic, sun-soaked and lush, recalling the rainforests that surround her Belgrave home, and the beaches of her native Byron Bay.
Debut single 'Do It Girl' is self-affirming and aspirational, described by 3RRR’s Simon Winkler as an “absorbing psychedelic adventure”. Along with the heavy-lidded new single 'Belgravey', these are the first tastes of POPPONGENE’s upcoming EP, to be released in 2017. To usher in the new year, POPPONGENE and her band will soundtrack midsummer Wednesday nights, accompanied each week by a host of Melbourne’s finest friends, including label-mates 808s and Greatest Hits and Melbourne mainstays Great Outdoors, Way Dynamic, Doona Waves, Real Feelings, Baby Blue, The Baudlaires & Ali E all equipped to turn the Gaso into an upstairs oasis.

In other exciting news for POPPONGENE she has been announced as the opening support for Weyes Blood, the songwriting project of California's Natalie Mering, who channels the uneasy listening vibes of the lost voices of Laurel Canyon. Weyes Blood will play her only Melbourne headline show while in Australia for the Sugar Mountain Festival at the Northcote Social Club on Friday 20th January with support from the incredible Lost Animal & our girl POPPONGENE.
